History of the Wine
One of the oldest French vineyard area in Burgundy stretches for almost 250 km from Auxerre to Macon and it is,
before everything else, wel-known due to the dukes of Burgundy who had embassies in all big countries in the Middle Age.
Burgundy who had embassies in all big countries in the Middle Age.
Before the Revolution of 1791 the vineyards in Burgundy were owned by monasteries and nobles. However,
after the Revolution they were shared among small owners and from then on the Burgundy "Clima" vineyards
are devided into the so-called parcels (plots). Such subdivision exists today as well, which is why there
a huge variety of the wines being produced here. The Burgundy vineyards have several types of white wines such
as Chardonnay, Aligote, Sauvignon Blanc and red wines such as Pinot Noir, Gamay and Tressot.
All wines of the LEO's wine–tasting offer.
